Carnegie Institution for Science is an elegant venue in Washington, DC with a uniquely circular ceremony/reception space and a long, stately staircase. To warm up the space, Elizabeth and Michael went with a fun floral palette of sage green, cream, lilac and blush with deep berry accents. We loved adorning the staircase with a lush and romantic vine of trailing greenery. Greenery vines were added to accent the escort card and sweetheart tables and filled in with blooms and lavender. Sweetpeas and garden roses added a delicate accent to the cake, and loads of candles created a sweet, romantic ambiance.
The Cloisters Castle
The Cloisters castle, right outside of Baltimore, is steeped in history and has a distinctly medieval vibe. Fun fact: It is actually where Will Smith and Jada Pinkett got married. They are marriage goals, right? This past May, it rained almost every single Saturday and this May Saturday was no exception. Kathryn and Arun took it all in stride and our team hustled in the rain to perfect their lush ceremony arch filled with greenery and spring blooms.
Spirea and campanula provided the perfect spring accents to Kathryn's cascading, asymmetrical bouquet filled with white peonies and fluffy garden roses. The couple gave us permission to go wild with the two mantle focal pieces and we had a blast designing and installing them. The reception space was filled with a lush garland of herbs and blooms and trailing candles for added romance.
Army Navy Club
One of our largest weddings of 2016 was this dream of a summer wedding at Army and Navy Club in Washington, DC. Blush dahlias, blushing bride protea and hydrangea and zinnias fresh from our garden were the floral highlights of the event, perfectly reflecting the sweet, elegant bride we worked with on the design. When I first spoke with Lois, our bride, I immediately loved her vision and couldn't wait to bring it to life. I especially loved the opportunity to create dramatic, raised centerpieces that included hanging amaranthus and a variety of garden roses. Oxon Hill Manor
This wedding just outside of Washington, DC in early May was marked by soggy weather. Thank goodness for Plan B! And luckily the rain let up just enough time for the couple to get some photos under their lush arbor with pops of coral, peach, blush and lots of greenery. We had so much fun building this arbor and adding potted begonias and herbs into the wedding ceremony and reception flowers.

DC War Memorial
This wedding might be my favorite design of 2016. The ceremony took place right on the National Mall at the DC War Memorial with a rooftop reception at Old Ebbitt Grill. The ceremony urns were huge (taller than me) and so much fun to make and perfect against the DC War Memorial (which totally dwarfed them). The less fun part was hauling them all through the city - parking was an issue! I absolutely loved designing A's wedding bouquet, which included rich shades of fuchsia, blush, and ivory and ample foraged foliage. I particularly loved the hanging amaranthus and fuchsia dahlias. Looking through these pictures makes me swoon over A and M's sweetness. I love the the way they look at each other and was honored to be a part of their wedding day. As seen on Style Me Pretty.
