Sophie’s sweet sister Julie married her love Connor at the family tree farm in Laytonsville, MD. Being that the wedding was on the farm, it only made sense to bring some trees inside the tent. We installed the trees to the main tent poles, and their branches helped connect the focal floral chandelier that hung over the dance floor. We “planted” small flower beds and tree hydrangeas at the base of each tent stake for a really “finished” look. Julie’s big priority was her live band Go Go Gadget …they were amazing and out of all of the weddings I have seen, I have never seen one with more dancing. If you are looking for a GREAT band, check them out!

We were excited to get to play with an underutilized color palette for this project. We love to use seasonal blooms so we knew that the yellow pansies would be perfect. Our team happened to be in NYC the day before this photo shoot and we fell in love with the tree peonies while browsing the New York Flower Markets. We knew they would steal the show. The orange-like fruits on the twisted, thorny stems are from a Flying Dragon Tree. Our local flower farmer, Carol from Plant Masters, snipped them specially for us.

This Romantic Engagement Shoot makes us all feel like we’re spending an afternoon in Paris. A few months ago, we partnered with the wonderful Bonnie Sen Photography to giveaway a styled engagement shoot. Nicole and Matt were our lucky winners, and we just can’t get over how much we love this gallery.

The Planners Affair was such a fun event for us to flower. We love the idea of such an amazing event giving back to the planners who work so hard to make every wedding day come together so seamlessly. These images were captured beautifully by Michael and Carina for Adriana Marie Events at Prism in Annapolis, Maryland.

As February starts winding down we are getting closer to our workshop, the Flower Freelance Intensive. We wanted to take some time to look back on last year, and show a little behind the scenes for anyone who is thinking about joining us this season. The Flower Freelance Intensive is appropriate for those with and without prior floral experience, and is the perfect workshop to help build a strong foundation or further hone in your skills. The 2019 Flower Freelance Intensive will be an 8 day course held from April 8th through April 14th at our studio in Laytonsville, Maryland. For further details and to fill out an application click here.
