Colorful Vibrancy at Dock 5

Sarah and Travis’s wedding at Dock 5 in Washington, DC, was a celebration of colorful vibrancy in every aspect of the day. Bright and bold peonies, soft ranunculus in creamy shades of peach and blush, with flowing greenery down the bouquets. Hints of fresh lavender for seasonality throughout the posies. Sweet pea added flow and movement in subtle pink tones. The bold color of the bouquets transitioned into the dramatic ceremony space. This expressive palette transitioned seamlessly into the dramatic ceremony space. Sparkling crushed velvet drapes in rich purple created a striking backdrop for a modern asymmetrical chuppah designed with a flowing ombré of color. Layered florals in vibrant magentas, warm oranges, and golden yellow hues framed the structural chuppah with an ombre of colors. Hidden within the layers of flowers were mementos to Sarah and Travis’s family, with photos peaking out.

The reception leaned into the Anthropology inspiration that Sarah loved. Hanging clouds of greenery provided an introduced texture above amidst sparkling disco balls. Garlands of carnations hung, adding brightness and whimsy throughout the ceiling installation. Tables glowed with the warmth of multicolored candles and modern tableware, while delicate ikebana arrangements featuring tulips and airy elements danced across the tabletops. For the final grand piece of the reception, the chuppah from the ceremony was transformed from an arbor to an installation to frame Sarah and Travis’s head table in colorful vibrancy.
